The HistoryComedySportz Richmond has been entertaining audiences in the River City since 1996, with humble roots in several fine establishments throughout the city including Features Dinner Cinema and Damon's in Innsbrook. In 2001, we opened our own theatre on Staples Mill Road - originally Comedy Alley, but more recently known as the ComedySportz Improv Theatre. It was, and remains to date, the only theatre ever in Richmond dedicated to the art of improv comedy. In March of 2009, we closed our doors to ride out the bumpy economy. We found a temporary home with the wonderful folks at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen until early 2010, when the search for a new home began... Our NEW Theatre!Heeding the cry of our most loyal fans, the ComedySportz Richmond team rebuilt! Our new theatre opened in April 2011 in the Gold's Gym Plaza at West Tower, just about a mile west of Parham Road at 8906 West Broad Street! We're BACK, offering shows for all ages every weekend, plus a season filled with local improv troupes and comic performers, original shows, theatrical productions and so much more! And our versatile space is avilable for parties, meetings and events! We have a 100 seat capacity, and can arrange chairs and tables to custom fit your needs! With a stage, concessions, and a state-of-the-art sound and video system, we have everything you need to make your event at ComedySportz Improv Theatre an amazing success! So bring a date, the kids, your parents, your bachelorette party or your company outing! We have exactly what you need to make your outing one that everyone will always remember! Laugh with us anytime at Richmond's own ComedySportz Improv Theatre! |
